Merry Yachty Christmas!

Merry Christmas to me. I landed my dream gig on a 2022 81’ Horizon yacht in Miami Beach. It’s gorgeous and it’s my job to try my best to keep it that way. Sole deck/stew for an amazing American couple. Learning so much from the husband/Captain. He trumps my organization skills and is a Yachting genius. I have an IPad with my daily duties and he knows everything, and kindly answers any silly questions I have. The wife/chief stew is also amazing. She’s a bit of a neat freak like me and everything is perfect. I do a deep clean throughout once a week. I have my own little cabin, bathroom, bedroom and little fridge, freezer and microwave. Perfect! We are headed to the Bahamas shortly after Christmas for a few weeks. Not my dream destination, but wonderful none the less, and the job in general makes up for it. I just love living on the water, learning tricks of the trade, doing maintenance and really just being in Miami Beach. I’ve only been here a month and it gets better and better each day as I discover new things (Lincoln St. shopping, amazing restaurants, a salsa dancing venue, etc.). So much to explore. I even have a crew car. What? Yes, a crew car. 😃 God truly has answered my prayers.
There may also be a really, really, really good friend in the making. Yes, I think you get the hint. It’s a man and an amazing one. I met him when I was in Fort Lauderdale. He’s very successful, works his tail off, but knows how to let go and see the world. He travels a lot for work and play and is very kind. He does a whole toy drive at Christmas for needy families. Totally overdoes it, but he just finds joy in helping others. He’s a good guy, so far?????? It too is kind of perfect. He’s busy working, traveling and I’m busy working, traveling, so when we see eachother it’s pretty magical. I met him before my dream job and he assisted in getting me out of the crew house a bit in his gorgeous condo. And, before him, I was looking for jobs away, anywhere, away, far, far away, out of US away. But, since meeting him I considered more local (he even gave me a hard time about it, because he knows how much I love to travel), but I did find my dream job in Miami Beach because of it. Close, but not too close 🙂 He is not a Florida boy, he’s a Texan, yes Texan, cowboy hat an all (well many hats, I barely see him without one). For the holidays he went back home to Texas and has been away since Thanksgiving. I miss him dearly, but we talk and I’ll (hopefully) see him in January when I get back from the Bahamas.
Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope yours is as wonderful and blessed as mine. I must have been a very, very good girl (I know, hard to believe) but I pretty much got everything I wanted and am living my best life.
